The decision was made after they found that physical scuba diving operations were highly risky
: The Fire and Rescue Department has halted the search and rescue operation for the missing Indian national woman who fell into the sinkhole on Jalan Masjid India at 5am today .
JBPM director-general, Datuk Nor Hisham Mohammad, stated the decision was made after they found that physical scuba diving operations were highly risky, and therefore, they have proposed using other methods, according to Berita Harian. He stated that JBPM would advise the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department , Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, and Kuala Lumpur City Hall to consider other SAR methods during a meeting this afternoon.
“In addition to the high risk to scuba diving personnel, there are also obstacles that are difficult for the divers to overcome. “The ‘baglock’ 18 meters deep in the drainage space is very difficult to break through as it consists of hardened fat, resembling a cement block,“ he was quoted as saying.Malaysia, Singapore a unified investment destination under Special Economic Zone development - Diplomat
