Vladdy is clutching up like never before
While the lineup has hit .260/.327/.417 this season — good for the sixth-bestin the majors — they have only produced the 17th-most runs in MLB. That massive discrepancy is mostly explained by Toronto's inability to get timely hits when they need them.
On Wednesday, the Blue Jays were heading towards a dispiriting loss where a 2-0 lead was erased by a three-run home run from. The team was two innings away from a fourth consecutive loss, until Guerrero hit a rocket the opposite way. Seeing Guerrero heat up is encouraging for Toronto in a general sense, as the 24-year-old has hit .297/.381/.703 over his last 10 games. That kind of power spike might be a harbinger of whats to come for Guerrero in the second half.
