Marc Pittonet will have a huge role to play in Carlton’s semi-final clash with Melbourne, and superstar Demon Max Gawn, after committing the next four years of his life to the Blues.

“I just wanted to get it done. I’ve loved it since I’ve come here [at the end of 2019]. I had five years at Hawthorn, and played seven games. I had a great experience there, but I had to move to get an opportunity because I was behind [Ben] McEvoy, who was awesome and a great mentor for me. “I might have still gone because there was a 200-game, dual premiership player ahead of me, who ended up being captain, so I don’t blame them for not picking me,” he said. “I was looking for wherever I could get those eight to 10 games [to prove myself], and then got lucky when Carlton came calling.”Pittonet has done plenty since then – on and off the field – to prove his worth to the Blues.
“One of us runs, and one of us beats up the other guy – and if one of us starts having a good day, we can just let them loose. We’ve got a really good relationship on the back of that, so I’m stoked that he stayed.” “A big part for me when I finish my career is I want to know how good I can be, and I don’t know if I’d get there if I didn’t have someone great to compete against every session,” he said.
