A trio of cheeky camels were meant to be part of a nativity scene at a Brisbane church but instead created a fuss after escaping and running amok on the city's streets. 9News
Cyrus, Morgy and Benjamin the camels were part of the Bridgeman Baptist Community Church nativity play but escaped just before 9am.Drivers filmed the camels walking along busy roads.
Owner Wayne Morris was shocked to get the call that they had wandered off but said the trio is always up to trouble"All the motorists, I give them credit, they were really nice people, they slowed down and yeah," Morris said.Cyrus the ring leader was responsible for breaking out after he managed to open the gate and the other two followed.The escapees were taken down by their one fatal flaw - a desire for a snack.
The camels were rounded up when they stopped to eat the grass on the side of the road and were taken safely back to Bethelem just in time for Christmas.
