CA chief Nick Hockley says he is not anticipating the big rise in COVID cases to deter fans in Sydney.
“We’ve got very robust COVID-safe plans that are led by the venues working closely with the health authorities,” Hockley told the ABC. “Outdoor settings we know are lower risk. Everyone will be double vaccinated, they’re seated venues. A spokesperson for the Tasmanian government could not confirm if that state was to change its rules in line with NSW and Victoria.
“The government is continuing to work with Cricket Australia and public health to ensure that the match operates under the approved COVID safety plan and all COVID related matters are managed effectively.
