BFP Inspects Firecracker Stores Ahead of New Year's

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted inspections of stores selling firecrackers in Bocaue, Bulacan on Saturday in preparation for New Year 's Day celebrations. BFP officer-in-charge Fire Chief Superintendent Jesus Fernandez stated that the inspections aimed to ensure compliance with safety protocols. The BFP also distributed flyers with crucial information about illegal firecrackers.

Banned firecrackers include: Binladen Atomic Kabase Kwiton Bomb Coke in Can Goodbye Chismosa Goodbye Philippines Pla-pla Piccolo Tuna. As of December 28, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 125 fireworks-related injuries, with one fatality resulting from a Judas belt firecracker. The majority of injuries were concentrated in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Ilocos, and Central Visayas. The DOH previously warned the public about the potential risks of firecrackers, highlighting the possibility of injuries or even death
