Local actor-host Ben Yeo's Chinese restaurant Tan Xiang Yuan will be closing its doors after two years of operation on February 12, 2025, the last day of Chinese New Year.
Ben Yeo announced the closure of his Chinese restaurant, Tan Xiang Yuan, on February 12, 2025, the last day of Chinese New Year. The 46-year-old actor-host revealed that the restaurant, located in a two-storey conservation house in Little India, will be shutting down after two years of operation. Yeo, who partnered with chef Cao Yong and other investors, stated that the business incurred significant renovation costs, exceeding $800,000, due to stringent regulations imposed on the old building.
He cited unexpected expenses and adherence to regulations as contributing factors to the restaurant's closure. While expressing regret for the staff, Yeo assured them of his support in finding new opportunities within the F&B industry. Initially planned for December 31, the closure date was extended to February 12 due to the overwhelming response to their festive menu launched in November.
