Sault Fire Services, Enbridge Gas investigated possible gas leak; no injuries reported
Students, staff and teachers were evacuated from Ben R. McMullin Public School on Friday afternoon over a possible gas leak.
Sault Fire Services were called to investigate at 2:12 p.m. said Aaron Gravelle, Sault Fire Services public education officer.“We took the precaution of evacuating the school,” said Joe Santa Maria, Algoma District School Board executive superintendent of business and operations. “There was a smell reported and the proper people were notified. It looks like there would be a small repair to the outside meter. As we find those things we have protocols in place to take care of them,” Santa Maria said.There were no injuries reported.
