Beekeepers are being reminded to continue carrying out mandatory surveillance on their hives in an effort to eradicate Varroa mites.
DPI Varroa Mite Emergency Response Coordinator Chris Anderson says over 2,000 people worked in an effort to keep the Varroa mite infestation “under control”.
“As a result of that work and the cooperation of beekeepers across the state and in particular those areas where the eradication is ongoing,” Mr Anderson told Sky News Australia.
