PETALING JAYA: There should be no passengers in the team.

Every player, whether national or independent, will have to be on their toes to play in any of the ties in the Asian Mixed Team Championships even if they are not the first choice, says coach Rosman Razak.

Malaysia’s line are expected to be quite predictable as the pressure will be on Lee Zii Jia , Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik , Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah and Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing to deliver when the tournament begins in Dubai tomorrow. The others in the team are Leong Jun Hao ; Goh Jin Wei and Wong Ling Ching ; Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi ; Teoh Mei Xing-Go Pei Kee ; and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei .

“It’s not about some selected players or pairs but everyone needs to get ready to play when needed. So far, the motivation of the team and the preparation has been good,” said Rosman.“For example, if Yew Sin-Ee Yi are fielded instead of Aaron-Wooi Yik, they should be ready to deliver. Looking at the motivation and mindset of the players, they are raring to go.“Although we have a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals, the knockout stage is not going to be easy.

The top four teams will qualify for the Sudirman Cup which is scheduled to be held in Suzhou, China, from May 14-21.
