Giovanni Pernice has reportedly quit Strictly Come Dancing after nine years as a professional dancer on the show, with the BBC said to be 'very keen' to keep him
The BBC has released a statement following rumours that Strictly Come Dancing favourite Giovanni Pernice may be leaving the show ahead of the new season.
His decision to possibly step away follows a challenging partnership with Sherlock actress Amanda, 52, in last year's competition. She exited the show in October after several intense disagreements with Giovanni, which reportedly reduced her to tears due to his demanding rehearsal style, reports the Mirror.
A BBC spokesperson shared with the Mirror: "The Professional Dancers for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will be announced in due course." Amanda later disclosed that she had been diagnosed with mild post-traumatic stress disorder following her participation in the competition. Subsequent allegations from other celebrity partners emerged.
