A woman was arrested by RCMP after a stabbing in Stephenville on March 27. Unsplash stock photoSTEPHENVILLE, N.L. — Police have arrested a 30-year-old woman following a stabbing in Stephenville on March 27.

Bay St. George RCMP responded to a call shortly before 9:30 p.m. reporting that a woman had forced her way into the house and refused to leave. Police said an altercation happened outside of the home resulting in one woman being stabbed and an attempted vehicle theft.Police said the victim identified the alleged attacker, and officers found the suspect a short time later outside a business with an edged weapon.

Kayla Rose-Leader was arrested without further incident. She is charged with aggravated assault, theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter into a residence and three counts of failing to comply with a court release order.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
