Jordan Mailata is the third Australian to play in the US Super Bowl with Bankstown cheering him on at the player’s “old stomping ground”, says Bankstown Bulls Coach and Former Teammate Daniel Hadchiti.
“When you get an Australian in the Super Bowl it’s obviously no small feat, it’s a big achievement so we’re extremely proud of him,” Mr Hadchiti told Sky News Australia.
“Jordan’s already been a very persistent type where if he puts his mind toward something he’s going to give it his all – he took the plunge in trying his luck in the NFL and it’s worked out for him.” Mr Hadchiti said Mailata’s “stature” and the “stop start” of the NFL game allowed for the former NRL player’s body type to be successful in the US football league.
