The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has allocated P32 million for construction projects in Maguindanao del Norte, aiming to improve school infrastructure in the province. The funding will support the construction of new school buildings, facilities, and water sanitation projects in various public schools across the region. Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal highlighted the importance of these investments in creating a safe and conducive learning environment for Bangsamoro students.
DAVAO CITY—The Bangsamoro education ministry reinforced the school infrastructure lack in many government schools across the autonomous region with a fresh investment of P32 million, this time the fund is going to the newly created province of Maguindanao del Norte, many campuses of which were severely battered by the previous armed skirmishes decades ago.
Among the projects is the construction of a one-storey building with two classrooms for Mumpong Elementary School at Barangay Bugawas, municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat. Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal said the infrastructure construction “reflects the regional government’s commitment to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for Bangsamoro students.”
The building was constructed through the Transitional Development Impact Fund 2023, costing P7.6 million. It said the center will benefit the Bangsamoro community in Barangay Mana, Malita, Davao Occidental.
