The bakery involved in a social media row with former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley last year has posted a tongue-in-cheek April Fool’s Day prank aimed at influencers asking for free food.
After the screenshot went viral, Catherine Tyldesley was identified to have been the celebrity in question. The actress later said that she had 'no idea' that the PR had been in touch with the bakery about the request.In an April Fool’s Day prank posted on social media this morning, the bakery has continued to poke fun at the trend of influencers asking for free food in return for posts online.
The top tier option, in exchange for a mere hundred million followers, included an “elaborate hand painted wedding cake with “surprise” filling of a year’s worth of bills for council tax and water for one of our bakers ”. One other person wrote: “I had to look twice! Then I remembered the date!” Another joked: “Who wants to follow me so I can get the flamingo cake.”
