PETALING JAYA: Independent men's doubles pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Swiss Open after a hard-fought 16-21, 21-12, 21-19 win over Indonesia's Shohibul Fikri-Bagas Maulana in Basel late on Friday (March 24).

World No. 8 Yew Sin-Ee Yi will next face India's world No. 6 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty for a place in the finals.

Mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie also reached the last four after beating Thailand's Supak Jomkoh-Supissara Paewsampran 21-18, 21-18. World No. 11 Soon Huat-Shevon will take on Netherlands' world No. 12 Robin Tabeling Selena Piek in the semi-finals today. Meanwhile, men's singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong was forced to pull out of his match against Taiwan's Chou Tien-chen while down 11-21, 0-2 after picking up an inner thigh hamstring strain.
