Bacoor reports recovery of six more COVID-19 patients

The city government of Bacoor reported six more recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and one additional positive case in its list on Tuesday.

The additional positive case reported brought to 101 the city’s total positive cases. Bacoor has the highest number of positive cases among Cavite’s big cities. The latest COVID-19 case tracker reports showed that the neighboring cities of Dasmariñas, Imus, and General Trias are on second, third, and fourth spots with 45, 42, and 21 cases, respectively.

Magallanes, in eighth district, is the only municipality in the province that remained COVID-19 positive free until this day. The city health office reported that with the 101 cases, 10 already died, 51 have recovered, and 40 are in active status. Of the 40 active cases involving resident-patients, the health office said that 11 were admitted to hospitals in the National Capital Region and 18 to hospitals in Cavite. Nine are in home quarantine, while two are in a quarantine facility. The local government placed Bacoor under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine as the area has the highest incidence of COVID-19 among Cavite’s eight districts.Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla made the MECQ appeal and the move on May 15, citing the high incidence of COVID-19 and to safeguard the citizens with the MECQ measures in place.
