The Bacolod City Council has approved a resolution urging Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez to consider purchasing generator sets for the Metro Bacolod District Jail in Barangay Singcang-Airport and the Metro Bacolod District Jail Annex in Barangay Handumanan. The resolution was authored by Councilor Psyche Marie Sy, chairperson of the City Council's committee on police matters.

“The BJMP facilities in Handumanan and Singcang-Airport are in urgent need of generator sets to ensure the continuous operation of essential systems, especially lighting, during power outages,” she said. She added that the lack of a stable power supply poses risks to the safety and security of both the PDLs and the surrounding areas, particularly during electrical failures.
