Two Northern Territory Labor backbenchers ridicule their own Government's economic management and criticise the spin used to sell the Gunner Government's fiscal strategies in a series of damaging private messages leaked to ABC.

The exposure of the newly-leaked emails will likely damage Ms Nelson's and Mr Paech's standing within the Labor party room, given one of Caucus' rules is to"speak positively about each other, our team, our Government and the Territory".

"I was unaware that the Government was in a position that they would have to borrow money to pay wages. This is alarming. Was this disclosed to Caucus and I missed it?" Ms Nelson wrote. She told the Treasurer she was fed up with the political spin delivered by ministers to backbenchers. After reading the email that Ms Nelson shared to the private Facebook group, Mr Paech said:"Great email Sandra! Sharp, concise, clear and well reflected of many backbenchers views."
