A rejuvenated independent men’s doubles pair Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi have re-ignited their chase for a place in the Olympics with a series of encouraging performances in January.
As things stand, Aaron-Wooi Yik are currently on course to be the nation’s sole representatives in the men’s doubles event in Tokyo 2020, unless one of the other two pairs also join them in the top eight by the April 30 cut-off date. “Obviously, we still have some way to go. It won’t be easy. There are about six tournaments for us to play in before the qualification period ends, we just need to do our best and see where it take us.”
