An eight-month-old baby rescued from a house fire in Scarborough, Ontario, has died in hospital. A man found with self-inflicted injuries is in custody. Four people were rescued from the burning home: the baby, a four-year-old, a woman in her 70s, and a 38-year-old man. The four-year-old and the woman are recovering from minor injuries.

The inspector says the man is in police custody. He added that it is too early in the investigation to determine charges.
