Swinburne University Associate Professor Ivo Labbe says the baby galaxies located light years away “breaks all theory” in astronomy with the number of stars each one has.
“When we look at the early universe, because we’re looking at very distant galaxies, we’re looking back in time; if you’re looking at the very early universe, you expect to see baby galaxies,” he told Sky News Australia.
“Now galaxies are supposed to slowly grow from small to big and they don’t really get big like the Milky Way with 100 billion stars until 14 billion years.”
