Tarsem Singh Jawanda pleaded guilty to conspiracy to export 12 kilograms of ecstasy to the U.S. and have a substantial amount of cocaine returned to Canada.

A B.C. man who was convicted of conspiring to ship large quantities of ecstasy to the U.S. in return for cocaine has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Jawanda and several others conspired to transport 12 1/2 kilograms of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, to the U.S. The plan called for the police agent and an undercover officer to pick up a substantial amount of cocaine in the U.S. and bring it back to Canada. Regarding both offences, Jawanda admitted that the transportation of the drugs was intended to be ongoing and that the amounts of drugs would increase over time.

Jawanda told the undercover cop that he represented some big players who moved very large quantities of drugs and that he needed to move large amounts of drugs south of the border in order to bring large amounts of drugs north.
