From the Prince George Post: The provincial government is hoping that turning the city into a hydrogen hub for central B.C. will help achieve its climate goals.
Corstanje explained that the funding is meant to help the city, province, and local agencies to help kickstart and grow the hydrogen sector in Prince George.
According to the city report, the goal of the strategy is to “promote the production, use and export of hydrogen in B.C. over the next 10 years and beyond.” The province hopes to do this by creating development hubs for hydrogen before 2025. Council had nothing but high praise for both the work of the economic development and the funding proposal. Coun. Brian Skakun agreed that Prince George is ideally placed to support the “incredible” hydrogen economy.
