MANILA - Ayala Corp said Monday its group paid P9.86 billion in taxes ahead of the extended deadline on June 14 to help boost the government's coronavirus response and recovery war chest.

MANILA - Ayala Corp said Monday its group paid P9.86 billion in taxes ahead of the extended deadline on June 14 to help boost the government's coronavirus response and recovery war chest.

Ayala Corp, Ayala Land, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Globe Telecommunications, AC Energy and Manila Water Corp paid a total of P9,858,293,348, the group said in a statement. “We are committed to help the President tackle the many challenges he has to deal with and are confident that by working together, our country can overcome each challenge, save lives, and gradually put the country back on a path of growth," the group chairman and president, brothers Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Fernando Zobel de Ayala said in a joint statement.
