Millions of Australians tuned in to watch the pomp and pageantry on Saturday evening, with every network except SBS broadcasting the royal occasion.

host David Koch , the royal broadcast was the second-most watched program on Saturday evening, followingNine’s* coverage, hosted by news presenter Peter Overton and’s Ally Langdon, came in second, attracting an overnight metro audience of 558,000 people – about 30 per cent fewer viewers than the Seven Network. ABC TV’s ceremony broadcast, hosted byJulia Baird and ABC News presenter Jeremy Fernandez, followed close behind, pulling in 513,000 people, according to the five city overnight ratings.

Network 10’s broadcast, hosted by national affairs editor Hugh Riminton, was in last place, attracting only 276,000 local viewers – less Nine and ABC’s additional coronation material, including the ABC’s coverage of the King’s procession to Westminster Abbey and Nine’s coronation celebration broadcast .
