Australian parents have revealed how they feel about old-school discipline being brought back into the classroom in a bid to stop unruly student behaviour. Following a senate inquiry, the Australian Education Research Organisation has proposed changes to how primary and high school teachers discipline their students.
Aussie parents in favour of bringing back ‘old-school’ discipline in schools. The roll-out will be available in every state in Australia by the end of this year, but it will be up to the individual teacher on how the rules are used. The guidelines include methods on teaching kids how to line up, and keep quiet. Teachers will also encourage students to practice ‘super walking’ — a technique in which students walk in a single file line around the school.
