Brumfitt, an internationally recognised keynote speaker, has reached more than 200 million people through her work which is also recognised by UN Women.The Senior Australian of the Year is Professor Tom Calma AO, one of Australia’s most respected human rights and social justice campaigners. The 69-year-old also helped establish the National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples, led the Tackling Indigenous Smoking program, and co-chaired Reconciliation Australia for more than a decade.Calma believes education is the key to advancing Indigenous peoples and says his father remains his inspiration behind his life’s work.Socceroo Awer Mabil, co founder of the not-for-profit organisation Barefoot to Boots, is Young Australian of the Year for 2023.
