A major music festival has gone into liquidation months before its already-postponed event date in September. 7NEWS
Lunar Electric was originally scheduled for March 11 this year but, after failing to secure a line-up in time, the organiser told ticket-holders they would have to wait.
A winding-up order has since been brought against the event organiser, Intensive Events, which entered liquidation on Friday.The company, which trades as Lunar Electric Festival and Inside Out Festival, last year brought major acts such as Pendulum, Darude, and The Veronicas to the stage, but was unable to back up for the 2023 event.
“We have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the March Lunar Electric tour until September 2023,” Lunar Electric said on February 16. “We want to ensure we deliver the best line-up and experience for you all, and this just couldn’t be achieved at this time. We apologise for the delay in communicating this to you.Gold Coast festival Lunar Electric has gone into liquidation after postponing the March event until September.But no line-up or further communication was forthcoming and the Lunar Electric website domain has now been taken offline.
Just over three months after the postponement, a winding-up order was brought against Intensive Events in the Queensland Supreme Court by TFH Hire, a Queensland hire company which supplies fence and portable toilet hire, according to ASIC.7NEWS.com.au has contacted him for comment.
