The 33-year-old has been with the White Sox since 2021, saving 75 games for them over the past two seasons and is known as a team leader who is very active in charitable causes throughout Chicago.Liam Hendriks looks on after the final out of game four of the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros in October 2021.

“Recently I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hearing the word ‘cancer’ came as a shock to my wife and I, as it does to millions of families each year. Hendriks said he will begin treatment immediately and he hopes to return to the White Sox in the near future.
