Meg Lanning, Australia’s captain, has announced her retirement from international cricket, saying now is the right time to end one of the most successful careers in Australian sport to move onto “something new”.
“The decision to step away from international cricket was a difficult one to make, but I feel now is the right time for me,” the three-time Belinda Clark medallist said in a statement.
