The endangered bird is found in the remote Cape Arid National Park and Nuytsland Nature Reserve, to the east of Esperance, in southern WA.The Australian government's official coronation gift is a $10,000 donation for a charity helping to save the rare Western Ground Parrot in WA. Recent bushfires have impacted their known habitat which has threatened the parrots' last wild population.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the official coronation gift today after he arrived in London to attend the coronation on Saturday.
