Australia’s first weatherman, Alan Wilkie, has died aged 94.In a 1977 interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly, Wilkie expressed his bemusement at the attention and “fuss” his career received.“They seem to know all about me, they even recognise my voice.“I love the forecasts.”In the interview, Wilkie described his average day at work.
“I have a good think about it, stick my head out the window for a look around and then do my 6.30 forecast for radio station 2SM.
