NDIS Minister Bill Shorten doesn’t believe that people should automatically get access to the scheme if they are diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

One in 20 Australians is estimated to have ADHD.“I don’t think that ADHD should automatically give you a ticket into the NDIS. So I don’t agree with that,” Shorten said.“The test under the act, is not just having a diagnosis, but it’s how that affects you ... I’m not saying that people don’t have ADHD, absolutely not.”

“I had a look at several key royal commissions in recent years, and they’ve all been released on the day ... or on the next workday,” Shorten said onGovernment Services Minister Bill Shorten said it would be inappropriate for a government to sit on the robo-debt report. He said the report being released publicly on the same day it was tabled was not unusual, and after the “gaslighting” by the previous government it was appropriate to release it.

“[The commissioner] asked the government for a seven-day extension into July in the event that she may choose to refer individuals to the National Anti-Corruption Commission. “The meaning was clear but, from that, I would not automatically assume there will be reference. We will find out very soon.”Turning now to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, who has been probed about the robo-debt scheme which ran while he was a minister in the Morrison government.
