There will be more support aimed to tackle domestic violence in tomorrow’s night federal budget, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher says. Domestic Violence Commissioner Micaela Cronin said one of the reasons women do not leave abusive relationships is a lack of financial support during a cost of living crisis.Gallagher told ABC News they look at things like Jobseeker payments every budget and noted payments are indexed to keep up with some of the increases in costs.
“We are absolutely focused on making sure that we’re working with the states and territories to increase options, particularly for women with children who are leaving domestic violence situations,” she said.Gallagher pointed to the government’s promised $12.
