Australian officials are in talks with counterparts from Israel and Egypt to ensure the Rafah crossing is open for the safe exit of 88 Australians trapped in Gaza. The Australian government is also advising Australians in Lebanon to leave due to concerns of airport closure.

"We're in the same situation, very sadly, that every other nation with foreign nationals is … in terms of foreign nationals in Gaza. There has not been exit permitted."
