A heatwave warning remains in place for much of Australia, with the mercury soaring by as much as 16C above average in some areas.WATCH VIDEO ABOVE: Heatwave warning for Victoria and South Australia.Heatwave warnings have been issued for Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania with temperatures 8C to 16C above average.
A severe weather warning is currently in place for the Riverland, Murraylands, West Coast and North West Pastoral Districts. The week has started as sunny and warm with Sydney beaches full over the Christmas break, and that will continue for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs of 28C.By Friday the chance of rain will increase to 70 per cent, most likely in the morning and afternoon, with a high of 26C.New Year’s Eve in Sydney will also be cooler this year, with a forecast of 27C and a 60 per cent chance of a shower in the morning.
