The latest wage growth data has come in lower than expected but ABS head of prices statistics Michelle Marquardt confirmed pay packets are rising.
Meanwhile annual wage growth lifted by 3.3 per cent to December, its highest yearly rate since the end of 2012.
The industries with the strongest in surge in paypackets in the December quarter were accommodation and food services, arts and recreation services and manufacturing. ABS head of prices statistics Michelle Marquardt said the increase in hourly wage rates for the December quarter were lower than the 1.1 per cent increase reported in the September quarter."This follows on from the September and June 2022 quarters which were also higher than their comparable quarters back to 2012.
