Australian football great Ange Postecoglou is on the verge of being appointed manager of English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. 7NEWS
Multiple reports say the 57-year-old will be announced this week, having emerged as the standout candidate on the back of his title-winning revolution at Celtic.
Tottenham finished eighth this season, missing out on all European competitions, and could lose their captain Harry Kane to Real Madrid.Ange Postecoglou is wary about Inverness's threat as his Celtic side shoot for a Scottish treble. He initially put off talks with Tottenham until after the Scottish Cup final, won by Celtic 3-1 over Inverness over the weekend.
Postecoglou’s journey from South Melbourne to Tottenham has had its twist and turns, with the Greek-born Victorian often speaking of having to prove himself to the football world. But his time in charge of the Joeys and Young Socceroos ended abruptly when he failed to qualify for the under-20 World Cup with a squad that featured several future internationals.
