And while Dokhotaru’s allegedly violent ex-boyfriend, Danny Zayat, 28, has been arrested for a slew of domestic abuse charges and is a suspect in her death, he has not been charged with murder.“It’s really important … we believe there will be evidence on that phone that would be vital to the investigation,” he said. “We have not been able to track the phone. It could be damaged as it’s come from 22 flights up.
They are also still canvassing the area where the crime occurred for CCTV and any witnesses who may be able to help stitch together the victim’s last movements.Dokhotaru moved to Canada from Russia with her family as a child. In 2012, she moved to Australia to fulfill a dream to travel and explore the world.
