"We will be building nuclear submarines here in Adelaide and the Commonwealth will be monitoring its commitment in full," he told the ABC. "The way it's going to be described in the budgetary impact is going to be as a percentage of GDP, and that is going to be over 0.1 per cent of GDP throughout the lifetime of this enormous project," he said.

"If we’re committed to AUKUS, then we need to make sure that we finance it properly," he told reporters at Parliament House.
