A month shy of the opening of their training camp in Madrid, Atletico Ottawa officially announced the signing of Jean\u002DAniel Assi on Tuesday.
Assi, 18, climbed the ranks while developing in Montreal and signed a professional contract with Major League Soccer’s Montreal FC two years ago. Last season, he played in 19 games for Calgary-based Cavalry FC and he has also represented Canada on the 2019 CONCACAF Boys Under 15 squad and has also played three games for the national under-20 squad.
