Toronto police said the driver was trapped in their vehicle.
Toronto Police Service is reporting a collision at Sheppard Avenue West and Magellan Drive that is causing a power outage in the area.
In a tweet posted at 6:47 p.m. Sunday, police said that a driver had knocked down a pole and that hydro lines were on the vehicle. Police said the downed pole trapped the driver inside the vehicle. Toronto paramedics said they took the driver to hospital and that the woman had serious but not life-threatening injuries.showed the power outage clustered near Sheppard Avenue West and Jane Street. In an email to the Star, a spokesperson for Toronto Hydro said about 800 people were without power.
Toronto Hydro asks residents to treat all downed wires as live and to stay back at least 10 metres — or about the length of a school bus.
