The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni is the best robot floor cleaner we’ve ever reviewed, especially when it comes to mopping (only maybe don’t get one for your mother).
The X1 Omni is one of those auto-emptying robovacs, with a vacuum in the recharging base station that hoovers out the robot’s small dust bin whenever it comes back to charge.
Which is to say, it’s good enough and convenient enough that you can set the X1 Omni to mop and vacuum every day to keep the house looking presentable, but it’s not so good that it will eliminate the need to clean the old-fashioned way from time to time. We’d also like Ecovacs to offer a detergent you can add to the clean water reservoir without damaging the machine. As it is, the mop does an OK job on tricky stains, but not a perfect job.
The X1 Omni is the best robovac we’ve reviewed at detecting obstacles and navigating its way through tight spaces, but the way it saves its detection and navigation data into a map is still troublesome.
