While almost every CEO of a major Wall Street or European bank will brave the sub-zero temperatures, Australia’s financiers have given the summit a miss, leaving the field to corporate players from the mining and tech sectors.
Wesfarmers is back on board, sending Bunnings MD Michael Schneider and corporate affairs director Naomi Flutter.Airwallex co-founder and CEO Jack Zhang is the only other Australian C-suiter with a top-level participant’s pass. ANU vice-chancellor Brian Schwarz is joining Ms Bishop for his regular trip - and, as usual, the university will host a reception that brings Australia’s entire Davos diaspora together.
