The Sydney Test has ended in a rain-impacted draw with Australia unable to defeat South Africa in three days
The third Test against South Africa has ended in a rain-affected draw after a match in which umpiring technology was used three times to adjudicate on low catches.
On Saturday, South African captain Dean Elgar appeared to have been brilliantly caught by Smith diving low to his right at slip to gather an edge off Josh Hazlewood. Replays showed the catch was taken cleanly, but the ball may have touched the ground as Smith turned his hand to bring it up. Plenty of stand-out performers it could have gone to as well – Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, Pat Cummins among them. Player of the match is Khawaja.Stumps: Pat Cummins calls time
Big lbw appeal that’s turned down by the umpire, DRS is called – absolutely ragging back to leg and high as well. Impacts outside the line. Not out stands. Labuschagne never allowed to review again.
