In 2016 English coach Ben Ryan led Fiji to the first Olympic gold medal in rugby sevens – and indeed the first for the country as a whole – giving him a unique status in the Pacific nation. He was immortalised on a Fijian 50c coin and appropriately, a $7 bill.

After leading Fiji to Olympic gold, Ryan helped put together a group of investors potentially interested in entering a Fijian team into Super Rugby.
