KUALA LUMPUR: Any possible changes to water tariffs will only be implemented by the start of 2024 at the earliest, says Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
The Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister said that any revised tariffs would still be subject to the Tariff Setting Mechanism by the National Water Services Commission .
"Similar to electric tariffs, it will not come soon as it will take time for us to study adequately before making any changes,” he said. "We do not want to unintentionally burden those we should be protecting with rushed changes," added Nik Nazmi during a press conference after Malakoff Corp Bhd's rebranding launch event here on Wednesday .
