JOHOR BARU: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a warm welcome by the people here during his first official visit to the state since assuming the premiership role.
The Prime Minister arrived at Kampung Melayu Majidee at about 12.05pm Friday and was greeted by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
Also present were state secretary Tan Sri Azmi Rohani, Johor housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, Johor youth, sports, entrepreneur development, cooperatives and human resources committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, as well as Local Government Development Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir.
Anwar spent about 20 minutes at a food court in Kampung Melayu Majidee, where he had lunch and greeted the people here. Chants of 'Reformasi' could also be heard coming from the crowd that was swarming the Prime Minister.Earlier, the Prime Minister was granted an audience with Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at Iskandar Bukit Serene.
