The Victoria Chapter of Make-A-Wish B.C. & Yukon will host the Naramata Bench Wineries Association as it unveils its Spring Release Portfolio on April 24 at ReWined in Victoria. Victorians are invited to sample the latest Naramata wines and rub shoulders with 21 wineries while enjoying small plates sponsored by 14 of Victoria’s best restaurants and food providers. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Crystal Garden, 713 Douglas St, Victoria.
B.C. wine of the weekCheckMate Artisanal Winery End Game Merlot 2014, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Phil McGahan oversees a meticulous regime that starts in the vineyard with precision desert viticulture. End Game comes off two, warm, south Okanagan benches along the eastern side of the valley, Osoyoos East Bench and the Black Sage Bench. In 2014 the 100 per cent wild ferment is run into oak prior to dryness to finish up inside the barrel.
